KUWAIT, Dec 14 (KUNA) -- The Arab Energy Organization (AEO) on Sunday appreciated member states' continued support for efforts to advance and restructure the pan-Arab bloc's business and activities.
This came in a final communique issued by the organization during the wrapping-up of its 115th ministerial meeting, held in Kuwait.
The meeting also adopted the bloc's estimated draft budget for 2026, according to the statement, tasking the General Secretariat to follow up on the implementation of strategic initiatives aiming at declaring the organization's new identity "Arab Energy Organization".
It spoke highly of member states' follow-up efforts for the Middle East Green Initiative and the application of the Carbon Circular Economy (CCE) concept, while the General Secretariat was asked to make some sort of technical coordination between member states and a Saudi taskforce to promote bilateral cooperation and carry out relevant regional priorities.
Furthermore, Khaled Al-Otaibi was elected the organization's secretary-general for a three-year term starting as of early March 2026.
The 115th ministerial meeting of the Arab Energy Organization (AEO) kicked off earlier in the day, chaired by Minister of Oil Tareq Al-Roumi. (pickup previous) maa.mt
