JEDDAH, Dec 14 (KUNA) -- The Muslim World League (MWL) on Sunday condemned a terrorist attack that targeted Syrian security forces and US forces near the Syrian city of Palmyra.
In a statement, the MWL's Secretary General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars (OMS) ,Dr. Mohammad Al-Issa, denounced what he called a "treacherous terrorist crime," reiterating the League's rejection of violence and terrorism in all forms.
He offered condolences to the victims' families, wished the injured a speedy recovery, and expressed full solidarity with Syria against threats to its security and stability.
On Saturday, the US Department of Defense said two American soldiers and a US civilian interpreter were killed, and others were wounded, in an attack on joint US-Syrian forces in Palmyra, central Syria. (end)
