Kuwaiti authority issues regulations on banning, unbanning foodstuff imports
KUWAIT, Dec 14 (KUNA) -- The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) recommended banning the import of all types of fresh, chilled, frozen, and processed poultry meat, and table eggs, from Santarem Province in Portugal, the United States, and Mexico, due to the outbreak of highly contagious avian influenza.
In a statement published on the social networking site X on Sunday, PAFN said that it had recommended lifting the ban on imports of all types of fresh, chilled, frozen and processed poultry meat, and table eggs from the Vendas Novas region in Portugal, China, Turkiye, and Bangladesh following to the end of the outbreak of avian influenza.
Meanwhile, the Authority decided to allow the import of cattle food products after lifting the ban concerning mad cow disease, from countries where bans have been issued related to the disease.(end) nrf.nhq
