ISLAMABAD, Nov 30 (KUNA) -- Pakistan and Egypt discussed regional and international issues on Sunday during a meeting between visiting Foreign Minister of Egypt, Dr. Badr Abdelatty with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari at the President House in Islamabad.
According to a press release by President House, the two sides exchanged views on key regional and international issues, reaffirming their resolve to work together for peace, stability, and prosperity.
During the meeting, the President said Pakistan values its longstanding ties with Egypt, which are rooted in shared faith and mutual respect, and looks forward to advancing the relationship in a more structured and forward-looking direction.
He noted that this year marks 77 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries and expressed the hope that both sides will reinvigorate cooperation in trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges.
He encouraged greater Egyptian investment in sectors where opportunities are expanding, including energy, logistics, construction, agriculture, mining and IT.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister delivered a message from the Egyptian President and expressed Egypt's keen interest in expanding its partnership with Pakistan in various fields.
The two leaders held a one-on-one meeting and exchanged views on key issues of mutual interest, said the release.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan and Egypt have reaffirmed the commitment to deepen their bilateral ties in all domains including trade, investment, security, agriculture and people to people contacts during a meeting between Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and visiting Foreign Minister of Egypt.
