KUWAIT, Nov 29 (KUNA) -- The 48th Kuwait International Book Fair featured a panel discussion on the influence of Kuwaiti media on culture, moderated by Fahad Al-Husseini.
Experts included Dr Ahmad Al-Haidar, Dr. Fawaz Al-Ajmi, and Dr Hussain Ibrahim.
Al-Haidar highlighted the history of Kuwaiti media, noting the launch of the first magazine, "Al-Kuwait Magazine," in 1928, and the launch of radio broadcasting in 1951.
He discussed establishing the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters, which led to Kuwait's first book fair in 1975.
Al-Haidar emphasized that Kuwait's media developed significantly in the 1940s and 50s, reflecting societal changes.
Al-Ajmi discussed Kuwait's soft power in culture and media, recognizing the younger generation's impact on social media and their achievements across various fields.
He also mentioned preserving Kuwaiti heritage through an extensive electronic archive of television programming.
Dr. Ibrahim addressed the future of media with artificial intelligence, noting that the industry is evolving from traditional to innovative media, while advocating ethical AI use in the profession.
