KUWAIT, March 5 (KUNA) -- 1960 -- Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues decree on pensions for civil servants.
1966 -- Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah places cornerstone of Shuaiba refinery, which opened in April 1968.
1975 -- All rights and agreements of Kuwait Oil Company and accords it had signed with other companies and the government nullified. The State became the sole owner of oil installations on Kuwaiti territories.
1991 -- Iraq annuls all regulations and rules concerning annexation of Kuwait.
1991 -- Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah heads the first cabinet meeting in liberated Kuwait.
2007 -- Kuwaiti athlete Ali Al-Eidan was listed in the Guinness Book of Records after climbing the Liberation Tower, the world's fifth highest communications tower.
2008 -- Kuwait Olympic Committee Chairman Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah inaugurates the First Gulf Sports Tournament for Women.
2008 -- Dr. Ahmad Al-Rubie, former minister of education, MP and media figure, passes away at the age of 59.
2009 -- Formative artist Bader Al-Qetami passes away at the age of 66. (end) hb
