Air France strike to severely disrupt services Thursday

PARIS, Feb 21 (KUNA) -- A strike February 22 by pilots, cabin and ground crews at national carrier Air France is expected to cause serious disruptions to all of this carrier's flights and numerous cancellations across the board, Air France said on Wednesday.
The strike by major unions seeking pay increases is for 24 hours and Air France is offering very flexible re-booking for travellers who were initially intending to take flights on Thursday.
"Some flights may be cancelled. Furthermore, in order to ensure the maximum number of flights with our reduced crew, we may have to limit the number of passengers on board some of our flights, meaning that we will not be able to honour all bookings.
Customers whose bookings are cancelled will be informed the day before their departure," the carrier said. Domestic, medium-haul and long-distance flights will all be affected but Air France subsidiary companies flying in France and Europe will not be hit by the strike, the company said.
All travellers are advised to contact Air France before going to airports. (End) jk.rk
