WASHINGTON, Oct 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Mohammad Al-Faris affirmed on Wednesday the importance of the ministry's fully integrated national program.
Al-Faris said, in a statement to KUNA, on the sidelines of his meetings with the World Bank meetings, that the ministry now is in the re-evaluation phase in which all components of the program will be revised.
"We are working now on developing some systems regarding curriculums, trainings, and ways of improving operational plans for future projects", he added.
The discussion also highlighted ways of raising public awareness for the program.
He pointed that the ministry will exploit World Bank adviser's expertise in applying the new educational system with all of its components.
The visit aims at finding new methods to help in improving teacher's performance through online programs.
Al-Faris visited Abdulatif Jameel International Educational Lab which contribute in supporting teachers, scholars, governments in their educational careers.
On his part, Dean of the Board of Executive Directors and Executive Director of the World Bank Dr. Merza Hasan said that discussions focused on improving both human resources and educational media.
"We think that human resources is the key element in developing any society and building strong economies", he said.
Hasan explained how this strategic cooperative program help in exchanging expertise between countries.
He praised efforts done by Minister Al-Faris in implementing forms of the program to achieve the desired results.
The program consists of five elements, which are improving school curriculums, teacher's capabilities, school management and educational environment in Kuwait.
The minister was accompanied by Director General of National Center of Educational Development Sabeih Al-Makhaizeem, Advisor Yosra Al-Omar, Director of educational and administrative affairs in the minister's office Anwar AL-Awadhi. (end) si.nhq
