GAZA, Sept 3 (KUNA) -- An injured Palestinian prisoner held by Israel has passed away at hospital, the head of the prisoners authority said on Sunday.
Rahed Al-Salhi, 21, who hails from Bethlehem, was at the intensive care unit at Hadassah Hospital receiving treatment for injuries he had suffered since his detention on August 6, said Issa Qaraqea, in a statement broadcast by the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA.
Qaraqea said Al-Salhi had been shot in the belly and thigh and was intentionally abandoned, sprawling in his blood for a long time. He had been taken in critical condition to the Israeli hospital where he was placed under special care for three weeks before dying.
He held Israeli troops responsible for his death for shooting him at point blank range. (end)
