KUWAIT, Jan 29 (KUNA) -- Acting Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Mohammad Al-Mannai discussed on Thursday with Ambassador of Ukraine to Kuwait Maksym Subkh ways to enhance media cooperation between the two countries.
During a meeting at KUNA headquarters, Al-Mannai said media cooperation constitutes a key pillar in supporting bilateral relations, stressing the importance of exchanging expertise and organizing joint training programs.
He noted that such cooperation would contribute to enhancing professional performance and keeping pace with rapid developments in media work.
Al-Mannai also congratulated Ambassador Subkh on assuming his duties as Ukraine's ambassador to Kuwait.
For his part, Ambassador Subkh expressed appreciation for the strong relations between the two friendly countries, affirming Ukraine's keenness to strengthen cooperation with Kuwait in various fields, particularly in the media sector.
He said the media cooperation agreement signed in 2016 between KUNA and Ukraine's national news agency Ukrinform provides an important framework for developing media partnership.
The ambassador commended the professionalism of Kuwaiti media and the prominent role played by KUNA in delivering news with credibility and objectivity.
He expressed hope to expand areas of media cooperation and exchange expertise during the coming period.
The meeting was attended by KUNA Deputy Director General for Editorial Affairs Esam Al-Ghanem, Acting Editor-in-Chief Mohammad Al-Bahar, Director of Marketing and Public Relations Issam Al-Ruwayeh, and Director of the Director General's Office Lamia Al-Farsi.
KUNA and Ukrinform signed a news cooperation agreement in 2016 providing for the exchange of news, photos, information, expertise, and staff visits. (end) aa.aai
