1950 -- Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the 10th ruler of the State of Kuwait, passed away at age of 65. The late Amir ruled the nation for 29 years.
1963 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah opened the first session of the National Assembly's legislative term, in which Abdulaziz Al-Saqer was elected as the Speaker. The house ended its term on January 3, 1967.
1974 -- State of Kuwait signed a partnership agreement with British Petroleum and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, according to which the government bought 60 percent of operations and facilities of the two companies including refining and gas liquidation facilities.
1987 -- A four-day Islamic summit concluded in Kuwait with the participation of leaders and representatives from 44 countries and international organizations.
2003 -- World Health Organization (WHO), in a meeting of its Executive Board in Geneva, approved Kuwait prize allocated for scientists contributing to researches of heart diseases, cancer and anti-smoking.
2006 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah took constitutional oath, in accordance with Article 60 of the Constitution, as Kuwait's 15th ruler in a special session of the National Assembly.
2008 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a law establishing companies to develop and implement public warehouse and border crossings.
2008 -- Kuwait Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah signed a law converting Kuwait Airways Corporation into a shareholding company.
2010 -- Kuwait Ambassador to Britain Khaled Al-Duwaisan announced that Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah donated 10 million Pounds Sterling to the Oxford Center for Islamic Studies.
2013 -- A Conference of the non-governmental organizations for the relief of the Syrian people concluded with pledged around USD 182 million for Syrian refugees.
2014 -- The Thomson Reuters Corporation chose Kuwait's northern Al-Zour refinery project as the best energy project of 2013.
2025 -- The Ministry of Information opened the digital photo archive, consisting some three historic photos of the State of Kuwait in different places and domains.
