KUWAIT, Nov 7 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Public Authority for Civil Aviation announced on Friday that a Kuwait Airways aircraft bound for the Philippines experienced a minor incident at Kuwait International Airport on Friday before takeoff, with no injuries reported.
The authority's pokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said in a press statement that the aircraft, carrying 284 passengers, encountered a technical malfunction in the braking system at approximately 4:24 am while being moved on the tarmac.
He confirmed that all passengers and crew members of Flight KU417 are safe and in good health, adding that the damage was limited to the aircraft's fuselage.
Al-Rajhi stated that technical teams immediately handled the situation in accordance with approved safety procedures. The site was secured, and all necessary technical inspections were conducted to ensure operational safety.
He added that a replacement flight was arranged and departed for its destination at 12:20 pm, reaffirming that the safety of passengers and flight crews remains the top priority for both the authority and Kuwait Airways, and that such incidents are managed under the highest international aviation safety standards.
