KUWAIT, July 15 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday welcomed the Syrian governments announcement of a ceasefire agreement that halted the fighting in Al-Sweida governorate, stressing the need to calm the situation and take all necessary measures to prevent further bloodshed.
The Ministry also condemned the Israeli attacks on Syrian territories, pointing out that these attacks represent a continuation of a series of repeated violations of international law and the UN Charter.
The International community and Security Council were also called on to assume their responsibilities to deter and put an end to these violations in order to preserve the security and stability of the region.
The Ministry also assured the firm stance and support of Kuwait towards the Syrian Arab Republic and that it stand by their side in preserving its security and stability. (end)
