KUWAIT, July 9 (KUNA) -- Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaila affirmed on Wednesday the ministry's keenness on supporting initiatives and programs aimed at serving persons with disabilities and ensuring a decent life for them.
This came in a statement by Minister Al-Huwaila to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following her meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General's Representative and Resident Coordinator in Kuwait Ghada Al-Taher, and the President of Kuwait College of Science and Technology (KCST) Dr. Khalid Al-Begain.
She noted that the meeting discussed enhancing joint cooperation and the ministryآ’s sponsorship of the second International Conference on Technology for Persons with Disabilities.
Al-Huwaila added that the discussions also covered strengthening partnerships and coordination among the ministry, KCST and the United Nations office in social development and joint projects, as well as exploring participation in the activities accompanying the 11th Conference of Ministers of Social Affairs and Social Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, scheduled to be held in Kuwait next September.
