US records over 68,663 new coronavirus cases, Brazil with 59,961

KUWAIT, July 24 (KUNA) -- The US recorded over 68,000 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours whereas Brazil recorded cases nearing 60,000.
The US recorded 68,663 new cases and 1,114 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The tally showed that the confirmed cases in the US reached at least 4,038,748 and 144,304 deaths.
As for Brazil, the health ministry reported 59,961 new cases over the past 24 hours bringing the country's total cases up to 2,287,475.
The ministry also reported 1,311 new deaths as the death toll reached at least 84,082.
The US and Brazil rank first and second globally in the number of coronavirus cases and deaths. (end) si.gta
