RABAT, Sept 23 (KUNA) -- The Portuguese city of Magazan, located in the western city of El-Jadida city Morocco, is a cultural-treasure, which earned recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2004.
The city has a Portuguese cistern, originally built in the 16 century for military purposes.
It is a touristic attraction with a 34 X 34 meters chamber supported by five rows of pillars.
Meanwhile, the Magazan Fortress, building prior to the cistern in 1514, still stands tall as an important historical monument. (end) jn.gta
