KOC signs three flow-line construction contracts

KUN0060 4 GEN 0366 KUWAIT /KUNA-DIZ7 ECO-KUWAIT-KOC-CONTRACTS KOC signs three flow-line construction contracts KUWAIT, Oct 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) signed three contracts for the construction of flow-lines and associated works in north, west, south and east Kuwait, said a KOC statement on Tuesday. The statement added the three contracts were signed with Combined Group Company, Mechanical Engineering, and Contracting Company and Heavy Engineering Industries and Shipbuilding Company. The contracts were signed on behalf of KOC by Chairman and Managing Director Farouk Al-Zanki. Speaking on this occasion, Deputy Chairman and Executive Assistant Managing Director for Technical Services Fahad Al-Ajmi said these contracts form an essential link to enhance KOC's production capabilities. "We are pleased to give this work to local contractors, who have the competency to carry out these vital projects with efficiency and in a timely manner," he said. For his part, Chairman of the Combined Group Company Sulaiman Al-Hamad expressed his company was ready to complete these strategic projects according to the highest international standards. As for Managing Director of the Mechanical Engineering and Contracting Company Fahad Al-Ghanem, he thanked KOC for entrusting his company with the contract and said all their experience would be used to complete their part in southern and eastern Kuwait. Meanwhile, Chairman and Managing Director of Heavy Engineering Industries and Shipbuilding Company said that due to the vital role KOC played in national economy, his company would give this contract top priority. Furthermore, KOC spokesman Ali Al-Shimmari said the scope of the three contracts included the construction of six-inch pipelines with a total length of 3,456 kilometers connecting oil wells with gathering centers. He said field survey, design, planning, supply of materials and construction, as well as testing of flowlines, well hookups, tie-ins and construction of headers form the core parts of the three contracts.
