ABU DHABI, March 1 (KUNA) -- The UAE Ministry of Defense announced Sunday that its air and air defense forces have intercepted 165 ballistic missiles, two cruise missiles, and 541 Iranian drones since the start of the Iranian attack on Saturday.
Since the beginning of the attack, 152 of the 165 ballistic missiles and both cruise missiles were destroyed, and 506 of 541 drones were intercepted, with 35 drones striking UAE territory causing material damage.
The attacks resulted in three fatalities of Pakistani, Nepali, and Bangladeshi nationals, and 58 minor injuries among multiple nationalities.
Some shrapnel fell in various areas due to air defense operations, causing minor to moderate material damage to civilian properties.
The ministry affirmed its full readiness to address any threats and emphasized that the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors is a top priority. (end)
