RIYADH, Feb 27 (KUNA) -- Saudi Arabia has announced that vehicles registered in one of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States will not be allowed to remain in the Kingdom for more than 90 days in a year.
The regulations apply to a Saudi national, an expatriate who does not hold any GCC nationality or those authorized to drive these vehicles, as part of new regulations aimed at boosting traffic discipline and regulating the presence of GCC vehicles.
These regulations were published by the Saudi official gazette "Umm Al-Qura', adding that the owner of the vehicle or those authorized to drive it are permitted to submit a request to the Saudi Ministry of Interior to extend the period before its end, in line with the measures determined by the ministry.
Meanwhile, The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority is responsible for providing the Ministry of Interior within the necessary vehicle data for implementing these regulations.
Those who exceed this period will face a violation, in accordance with the Kingdom's traffic system. (end)
