KUWAIT, Jan 29 (KUNA) -- Kuwait beat Japan 33-32 on Thursday to win the third place in the 22nd Asian Handball Championship, which concludes on Thursday.
The Kuwaiti national handball squad outperformed the Japanese counterpart in the first half through a 19-16 lead thanks to the players' high speed and concentration.
The Japanese team could make a comeback in most parts of the second half, but, in the end, Kuwait showed high fighting spirit to end the game with a 33-32 win to secure the third place in the Asian championship.
Bahrain's handball team and its Qatari counterpart will face off in the 22nd Asian Handball Championship final match on Thursday. (end) hms.mt
