KUWAIT, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Oil Tareq Al-Roumi said Monday digital transformation is a key enabler for improving efficiency, service quality, and institutional integration, stressing that technology is a means not an end.
His remarks came at a ceremony launching six digital transformation projects under the "Masar" program at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre.
Al-Roumi said the initiative reflects a comprehensive institutional approach focused on governance, performance improvement, data integration, and linking strategic planning with execution to support transparent, measurable decision-making.
He added that the ministry's vision prioritizes investing in human capital, building national capabilities, and shifting from traditional to more sustainable digital work models.
Minister of State for Communications Omar Al-Omar emphasized that successful digital transformation depends on strong inter-institutional cooperation, noting that the Ministry of Communications partnered strategically with the Oil Ministry to provide secure digital infrastructure and unified technical frameworks.
He also highlighted the national cybersecurity strategy's role in protecting the oil sector's critical digital infrastructure.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil Sheikh Dr. Nimer Al-Sabah said "Masar" marks a transition from planning to full implementation, delivering six integrated digital systems covering strategic performance management, financial settlements, training and development, a unified digital portal, well lifecycle management, and legal services-forming the backbone of the ministry's digital transformation efforts.
