AMMAN, Nov 17 (KUNA) -- Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty on Monday collectively called for total compliance with a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, agreeing that such a measure should be stringently enforced.
Holding talks over the phone, the Jordanian and Egyptian top diplomats said that stability in the Middle East region is linked to a political framework based on a two-state solution to the Middle East conflict, said a Jordanian foreign ministry statement.
The talks come ahead of a planned international conference to push forward reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip, which largely hinge on international backing to ensure the success of these plans, added the statement. (end) amn.nam
