Egypt, Syria FMs discuss situation in N. Syria

CAIRO, Dec 4 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Bader Abdelatty and his Syrian counterpart Bassam Sabbagh discussed the current situation and recent developments in northern Syria, emphasizing their grave repercussions on Syria's security, stability, and the broader region.
In a press statement, Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, Spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, noted Wednesday that the discussion took place during a phone call between the two ministers.
The spokesperson stated that Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's steadfast support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, stressing the critical importance of protecting civilians.
The two officials also explored avenues for Arab support for the Syrian state in light of recent events, particularly within the framework of the Arab League. (end) asm.sa
