Iraqi forces control two oil towns in Mosul

BAGHDAD, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- Iraqi government forces are now controlling two oil-rich towns in northwest of Mosul, previously manned by the Kurdish Peshmerga troops, the military media department said in a statement Friday.
The Iraqi forces are in full control of Zamar and Ein Zala towns, which are nead Dohuk district, it added.
The forces are now in control of 44 oil wells, it said.
Iraqi forces are advancing towards the northern cities since the dispute with Kurdistan over the referendum the region held. (end) ahh.bs
