Kuwait team in the 9th Arab Kickboxing Championship
AMMAN, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait won two gold medals, two silver and five bronze in the 9th Arab Kickboxing Championship, which was concluded in Amman on Friday.
Kuwait female Hamayel Al-Yaqout won the Full Contact gold medal in the 70-kilogram category, while Abdulaziz Murad won the K-1 competition in the 67-kg category.
Al-Yaqout also won a silver medal in the Semi-Contact while Murad came second in the Full Contact fight.
Mohammad Al-Mai won the bronze in the Full Contact fight in the 57-kg category, while Abdulhadi Al-Ajeel won two bronze medals in the Full Contact and K-1 fights. Two other bronze were achieved by Yusuf Al-Moussa in the Full Contact and K-1 fights in the 60-kg category.
Kuwait team manager Abdulaziz Al-Faddagh commended the team for the "outstanding" results.
Al-Yaqout said women sport was receiving a huge support and encouragement in Kuwait, which contributed to better performance by female athletes. (end)
