RAMALLAH, May 19 (KUNA) -- Israeli forces closed down a mosque in Wadi
Al-Joz, north of Jerusalem, Palestinian sources said on Thursday.
A force from the Israeli border guards and the Israeli intelligence broke
down the main door of "Ibn Quddamah" mosque and then arrested the people
inside it.
Radio Israel quoted Israeli Army spokesperson as saying that the mosque was
previously shut down because it was used as a stronghold for Hamas.
"While inspecting the area, the police noticed that the mosque was
re-opened. The police, then, arrested two people who were inside the mosque
and closed it down once again," the Israeli spokesperson pointed out. (end)
