NEW DELHI, Dec 22 (KUNA) -- At least 14 rebels of the Liberation Tigers of
Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and a government soldier were killed in different clashes
in Sri Lanka's northern region.
The Sri Lankan Army launched an attack on seven LTTE bunkers in Mannar area
Saturday, killing eight rebels and injuring 12, the Media Centre for National
Security (MCNS) said in a statement in Colombo.
One trooper was also killed and six others injured in the incident, MCNS
said.
In another incident, six LTTE rebels were killed in an Army attack at
Palamoddai also in Mannar Friday, news agency Press Trust of India reported.
