Russia's arms exports growing, tops USD 50 bln - Kozhin

MOSCOW, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- Russian arms export orders are steadily growing despite sanctions and fierce competition on global market, Russian President's Aide for Military and Technical Cooperation Vladimir Kozhin said.
In a statement aired by Interfax news agency, Kozhin said that the purchase orders of Russian arms have climb to over USD 50 billion.
The demand for weapons have been growing against backdrop of Russian forces operation in Syria, he noted.
He pointed out that Iran hopes for total cancellation of arms supplies restrictions as Russia is getting prepared for potential cooperation.
Russia and Iran are in serious talks on supplies of defensive weapons including Iran's demand to purchase S-300 missile systems, he said. (end) as.ibi
