SANAA, June 19 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni security services managed to foil a plot by the terrorist Al-Qaeda organization to attack several foreign embassies here, a senior police officer announced Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, three operatives of Al-Qaeda, including one in charge of the suicide cells in Sanaa, have been killed in a secret operation by the security services in Al-Bayda province, southwest Yemen.
"The quality operation, co-launched by the security directorates of Al-Zaher and Lahad, targeted Salah Al-Jawhari and two of his fellowmen who were prepared to launch suicide attacks," according to the source.
The security services were also able to arrest a wanted man in connection with the terrorist attack on a military parade at Al-Sab'in Sq., downtown Sanaa, in late May. (end) az.gb KUNA 200052 Jun 12NNNN
