SANAA, June 19 (KUNA) -- The Yemeni security services managed to foil a plot by the terrorist Al-Qaeda organization to attack several foreign embassies here, a senior police officer announced Tuesday night.
"The law-enforcers intercepted a car carrying three terrorists and a quantity of firearms and explosive devices in a addition to map of the targeted embassies and the homes of several politicians and military top brass, " the officer said in a press release.
Meanwhile, three operatives of Al-Qaeda, including one in charge of the suicide cells in Sanaa, have been killed in a secret operation by the security services in Al-Bayda province, southwest Yemen.
"The quality operation, co-launched by the security directorates of Al-Zaher and Lahad, targeted Salah Al-Jawhari and two of his fellowmen who were prepared to launch suicide attacks," according to the source.
