EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas
BRUSSELS, July 4 (KUNA) -- EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, said Friday that Russia is responding to calls for peace with missiles, stressing that Russia's intensified attacks on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv "show that Moscow doesn't want
peace."
In a post on X, Kallas stated, "Each time the world reaches out for peace, Putin answers with missiles."
The EU top diplomat noted that air defense systems and missiles are "scarce everywhere," but she emphasized, "Ukraine needs them now, every single day, to protect its people."
It is worth noting that the US administration announced on Wednesday a pause in sending certain weapons shipments to Ukraine, including air defense missiles.
Meanwhile, the German government said Friday it is considering purchasing Patriot air defense systems from the United States to support Ukraine in its war against Russia. (end)
