Australia condemns Iran attacks on US bases in Qatar, Iraq

KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (KUNA) -- Australia Foreign Minister Penny Wong said Tuesday that her country condemns Iran's strikes on US bases in Qatar and Iraq.
"We do not want to see further escalation," she said in a statement.
"A full-scale war in the Middle East would be devastating for the people of the region and the world," the minister reiterated.
"Australia continues to call for de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy," she added.
"Closure of airspace around transit hubs in the Middle East could impact flights globally," she warned. (end) aab.mb
