Slovakia declares it will send fighter jet to Ukraine

VIENNA, March 17 (KUNA) -- Slovakia has decided to supply fighter jets to Ukraine, becoming the second NATO member state to take such a move after Poland.
Slovak Prime Minister Eduard Heger told the News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) on Friday that his government decided to dispatch 13 Mig-29 (Soviet-made) jet fighters to the Ukrainian air force.
Defense Minister Jaroslav Nad indicated in a statement that the "deal would warrant several weeks to be accomplished." Ukraine has been at war with Russia since more than a year ago, when Moscow launched "the special military operation," at pretext that Kyiv was seeking alliances with Moscow's foes, namely western powers.
