25 killed, 6 injured in massive fire in nightclub in W. India

NEW DELHI, Dec 7 (KUNA) -- At least 25 people were killed and six others injured in a massive fire that broke out in a nightclub in west India's North Goa early Sunday, according to local media.
The Press Trust of India said quoting the local police that 25 people were killed and six others injuerd in a major fire that broke out inside Birch by Romeo Lane located in Arpora village, some 25 km from the state capital Panaji.
The cause of the fire is said to be the explosion of a gas cylinder as the local authorities ordered an investigation into the tragic incident.
Goa is famous for its attractive beaches and night life attracting a huge number of foreign and domestic tourists.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over the tragic incident and extended condolences to the families of the dead and prayed for the early recovery of the injuerd. (end) atk.mt
