ABUDHABI, July 7 (KUNA) -- The UAE on Monday said that the SAFEEN PRISM vessel part of the Abu Dhabi port group had responded immediately to a distress call of the Magic Seas Vessel barring the British flag after it was targeted in the Red Sea which led to damaging its hull and forcing its crew to abandon the vessel in difficult sea conditions.
A statement by UAE's Foreign Ministry said that the response operation resulted in successfully rescuing all the ships 22 crew members, in coordination with relevant maritime authorities, including the UK Maritime Transport Authority (UKMTO), and relevant international organizations, while adhering to the highest standards of safety.
The Ministry also said the swift action embodies the UAE's commitment to supporting the security and safety of international navigation and humanitarian solidarity with all countries in the face of growing challenges in strategic waterways. (end)
