Jordan urges citizens to leave Syria amid developments

AMMAN, Dec 6 (KUNA) -- The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates urged, Friday, Jordanian living in Syria to leave as soon as possible, due to the developments taking place in the Syrian territories to ensure their safety.
A crisis cell has been formed by concerned Jordanian agencies to work on evacuating citizens and securing their return to Jordan as soon as possible, said ministry spokesman, Ambassador Sufian Al-Qudah.
He called on the Jordanian citizens in Syria to take utmost caution, and to register immediately on the website of the Jordanian embassy in Damascus to request assistance around the clock.
Earlier today, the Jordanian Minister of Interior Mazin Al-Farrayeh announced the closure of the Jaber crossing on Syrian borders, due to security conditions in southern Syria. (end) amn.mmj.sas
