MOSCOW, May 26 (KUNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, on Wednesday, called the Yemeni parties to adopt a comprehensive national dialogue, expressing his deep concern over the humanitarian situation there.
During a press conference after a meeting with his Yemeni counterpart
Ahmad bin Mubarak, Lavrov shed light on the UN' role in settling the conflict in Yemen, adding that the way to establish a firm peace in Yemen passes through comprehensive dialogue.
Lavrov expressed his deep concern about the humanitarian situation in Yemen, noting that the war is causing destruction of the economic structure in the country.
He also urged to lift the land, air and sea blockade imposed on Yemen and to abolish all restrictions imposed on food supplies, medicines and other basic materials in all regions of the country.
For his part, the Yemeni Foreign Minister praised the role played by Russia in the international efforts aimed at settling the conflict in Yemen.
He said that his visit to Moscow aims to strengthen bilateral ties with Russia and support the efforts made by the Yemeni government to push forward the political settlement of the conflict in Yemen. (end)
