US records over 209,000 new coronavirus cases, at least 3,258 deaths

WASHINGTON, Jan 16 (KUNA) -- The US recorded 209,560 new coronavirus cases and 3,258 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The tally showed that the confirmed cases nationwide reached 23,524,081 and at least 391,955 related deaths.
Furthermore, 127,235 people are currently hospitalized with coronavirus in the US, according to the Covid Tracking Project.
This comes as at least 31,161,075 vaccine doses have been distributed across the nation, with at least 12,279,180 shots administered, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (end) si.ibi
