RAMALLAH, Dec 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Aziz Al-Daihani on Sunday submitted a copy of his credentials to Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad Al-Maliki, becoming the country's first non-resident ambassador to the Palestinian state.
The move represents a "historic event" in Palestinian history, read a foreign ministry statement, highlighting Kuwait's amicable relations with the Palestinians, pending further improvements in bilateral ties.
The Kuwaiti diplomat said he was proud to have been approved as non-resident ambassador to the Palestinian state, promising to do everything in his power to take bilateral ties to greater levels.
Amid a lavish ceremony attended by a bevy of Palestinian officials, he said that Kuwait would never "abandon the Palestinians," emphasizing that better ties is a common goal. (pickup previous)
