BAGHDAD, July 16 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdulmahdi and his Kurdish counterpart Masrour Barzani on Tuesday expressed the desire to resolve outstanding issues between the two sides.
This came during a meeting between Abdulmahdi and Barzani, who arrived in Baghdad on his first official visit heading a delegation of a number of ministers of the Kurdistan region.
A government statement quoted Abdulmahdi as welcoming cooperation and understanding with the provincial government to promote integration and resolve all problems under the constitution and within the framework of Iraq's unity.
For his part, Barzani stressed keenness to visit Baghdad as his first trip after assuming office as prime minister, expressing the readiness of the regional government to work and cooperate with the federal government to resolve all outstanding issues in accordance with the constitution.
The Iraq's Kurdistan provincial government has received only a few days ago the confidence of the parliament, days after the election of Nechirvan Barzani as President of the region. (end) ahh.aa
