Int'l conf. on moderation in Islam begins in Makkah tomorrow

JEDDAH, May 26 (KUNA) -- Under the patronage of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Muslim World League (MWL) will launch in Makkah on Monday an international conference on the values of moderation in Islam.
During the four-day event, the "Makkah Document" will be declared to highlight these values, said the MWL Secretary-General Dr. Mohammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa.
Al-Issa extolled King Salman for his kind patronage of the event, saying it comes in the framework of his support for the joint action to achieve the common aspirations of the Muslim nation.
The conference will gather a large number of muftis, scholars, intellectuals and senior officials in the Muslim world, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Representing Kuwait, Prof. Humoud Al-Qash'an will table a paper to the conference on Kuwait experiment to promote moderation and resolve the sectarian and racial problems. (end) nsa.gb
