Tunisia's Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui lauded his country's "distinctive" relationship with Kuwait
By Abdulwahab Al-Qayed SOFIA, Bulgaria, Oct 8 (KUNA) -- Tunisia's Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui lauded on Monday his country's "distinctive" relationship with Kuwait, and praised His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's effective role in activating joint Arab action.
Jhinaoui made his remarks to KUNA on the sidelines of his maiden visit to Bulgaria since 1994.
The Tunisian-Kuwaiti ties did not form on the spur of the moment, but have been deep-rooted since Kuwait' Independence in 1961, he said.
President Beji Caid Essebsi has recently sent his special envoy to Kuwait to deliver a letter to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, whom Essebsi holds in great admiration, appreciation and respect due for his humanitarian stands, said the Tunisian minister.
The letter is also part of the two leaders' ongoing consultations about ways to enhance and boost bilateral ties in various fields, he noted, adding it also discusses a number of subjects such as recent developments of the situations in Arab countries.
Meanwhile, Jhinaoui said his country would continue its consultations with all Arab states to assemble Arab leaders' opinions and coordinate them in order to enable the forthcoming Arab Summit in Tunis from making a quantum leap in Arab-Arab relationship. (end) amq.ma
