Jordanian FM affirms importance of Syrians voluntary repatriation

AMMAN, Sep 9 (KUNA) -- Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi confirmed with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov Sunday the importance of the Syrian migrant's voluntary repatriation back to their country.
Safadi and Lavrov stressed on continued cooperation and coordination to reach a political solution to the crisis on the basis of UN Security Council resolution 2254.
They two also reviewed developments in efforts to break the deadlock of the peace process, which should move towards resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict for a two-state solution.
On the bilateral relations, the two ministers underlined the common concern in continuing to develop bilateral ties that were built by the Jordanian monarch King Abdullah II and Russian President Vladimir Putin in a "solid foundation of openness and trust." Jordan hosts about 1.3 million Syrians, nearly half of whom fled after the outbreak of the Syrian crisis in 2011. (end) mjb.tb.aq
