Policeman killed in attack on Bahrain prison

MANAMA, Jan 1 (KUNA) -- A policeman was killed on Sunday when armed men opened fire in a rehabilitation center in the Southeastern village of Jaww, Bahrain's Interior Ministry announced, in what it described as a "terrorist" attack.
In a statement on its Twitter account, the Interior Ministry said that a policeman was killed when he tried to repel an attack to free several convicted inmates.
Legal action has been mounted and security forces are in search of the culprits and escapees, the statement added. (end) mga.nam
