RIYADH, Oct 7 (KUNA) -- Yemeni Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Sameera Obaid on Friday expressed the Yemeni government's thanks and appreciation to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States for their role in providing humanitarian and food assistance to Yemeni people.
During a meeting of the GCC Coordination Office for Humanitarian and Food Assistance held in Riyadh, the Yemeni minister, who is also deputy chairperson of the Supreme Committee for Relief in Yemen, lauded the GCC's keenness to exert efforts for supporting development sectors in Yemen.
The minister provided a detailed report regarding the humanitarian situation in Yemen due to a stifling siege imposed on several Yemeni governorates.
The meeting discussed relief and humanitarian aid provided to Yemeni people last month, together with a number of relief and development issues. (end)
