MADRID, March 25 (KUNA) -- A Spanish official announced Friday that the autonomous Catalonia Province is ready to receive 250 refugees next month.
In a press statement, Secretary for Equality, Immigration and Citizenship with the regional Government of Catalonia Oriol Amoros said that the province can receive right now 250 refugees.
He noted that the government would provide refugees with their needs of housing and social services.

Amoros pointed out that the moves comes within the framework of the Spanish government's commitment to receive up to 19,000 refugees in two years as per the EU refugees resettlement agreements.
Last week, Spain's Catalan President, Carles Puigdemont, sent a letter to EU Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos, to inform him that the Catalan government is working to accommodate around 4,500 refugees. (end) hnd.ibi
