RIYADH, May 11 (KUNA) -- The Arab-European Cities Dialogue Forum started on Sunday in Saudi Arabia's capital, Riyadh, with the participation of over 100 mayors from Arab and European cities, along with representatives from international organizations and development institutions.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mayor of Riyadh Region, Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz bin Ayyaf highlighted the long-standing relationship between Arab and European cities, and emphasized that the forum addresses key themes focused on improving quality of life.
Prince Faisal described the forum as a platform for exchanging experiences and fostering partnerships between Arab and European cities and organizations, and noted that it contributes to developing joint solutions for urban challenges, enhancing inclusive governance, preserving heritage, addressing climate issues, and advancing urban greening.
On his part, the Director General of the Arab Urban Development Institute, Dr. Anas Al-Mughairy describes the forum as a strategic platform for knowledge and experience-sharing among cities facing common challenges.
The opening ceremony featured a joint musical performance blending Arab and European classical music, symbolizing the forum's mission of bridging cultures. (end) kns.dss
