RIYADH, Aug 22 (KUNA) -- The supreme authority for coordination of Islamic
organizations holds its first session in Holy Makkah, Saudi Arabia next
Saturday with the focus on Islamic presentation plans and preserving the
Islamic identity.
Muslim World League (MWL) Secretary General Abdullah al-Turki, who is
expected to preside over the meetings, said the authority's council intended
to draw out plans to achieve integration and coordination of actions and work
of Islamic institutions and organizations worldwide.
In a statement circulated here today, he said the council members would
focus on plans and work programs pertaining to Islamic presentation and
preserving the Islamic identity.
He said join actions and unified stances would be adopted towards
significant issues and highlighting of the human and civilized Islamic values
and to erasing the distorted and misleading propaganda of the true Islam.
Turki said the council members would be expected to work on enhancement of
civilized contact between Muslim and non-Muslim nations. (end)
