Kuwait Communications Min. stresses readiness to ensure continued service
KUWAIT, March 2 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology Omar Al-Omar affirmed on Monday that the ministry activated all its operational and regulating sectors and raised preparedness to the highest level to ensure continued Internet and communications services.
This came in a statement made by the ministry to KUNA after a shared meeting held among the ministry of communications, and the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) as well as the Central Agency for Information Technology, communication companies and service providers.
Al-Omar, also Acting Minister of Information and Culture, reassured nationals and expats that fixed and wireless networks are working at their full capacity.
He noted that communications system in the state professionally does its duty around the clock.
Roaming services are available and efficiently work, he noted, lauding communications companies in boosting contacting the stranded nationals outside the country and providing roaming services for free in a manner that ensures constant contact and shows national efforts integration in these conditions.
Meanwhile, Undersecretary of CIAT Meshaal Al-Zaid said that the ministry's infrastructure of communication works at a full capacity.
Layali Al-Mansour, a CITRA, said the authority is constantly following the provision of communications and Internet service and boosting quality needed, in coordination with service providers. (end) fh.asa.hm
