Iran affirms that Natanz nuclear facility attacked

TEHRAN, March 2 (KUNA) -- The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, confirmed on Monday that the Natanz nuclear facility in Isfahan Province had been subjected to a joint strike by Israeli occupation and the United States.
Official Iranian media reported that Eslami sent a letter of protest to the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, regarding the Natanz nuclear facility being targeted on Sunday by Israeli occupation and American strikes carried out in two waves.
Eslami said that it is natural for Tehran to take the necessary measures regarding the defense of its sovereign rights, calling on Grossi to fulfill his responsibilities and condemn this attack, which he said violates international laws.
Tehran and other Iranian cities have been subjected for three days to a wide-scale military assault by Israeli occupation and the US, which has resulted in the killing of several senior Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Iran has responded by launching missiles and drones towards Israeli occupation and Gulf countries. (end) mo.onm
